ANXIETY
"Anxiety can't shake it off of me"
- Anxiety by Doechii
Pursuing psychology one gains an
understanding of human behaviour and wellbeing. Psychologists help people in different
settings with their practice anchored in empathy. It helps one appreciate and value the depth of humanity. But often they (psychologists) don't have answers to a lot of their mental health struggles and grapple with the situation as much as any other person. Seeking help and talking about one's thoughts with a professional doesn't make anyone weak. It helps one identify, understand and deal with the problem in a healthy way. This experience or circumstance helps one better understand the problem and approach it with kindness.
Here is a small poem on how debilitating anxiety can be
Anxiety is cold water splashed on my face
in the dead of the night,
leaves me shuddering and hopeless,
there are no paths, no lights,
nothing to hold on to.
When no help works, as it doesn't even reach me,
sometimes I think it does, but only to find out it's a mirage
Splash! This pushes me down even further,
the snakes start creeping up,
it binds me, suffocates me.
Please get me out of this, I am exhausted,
let me feel the scent of fresh air,
but at the moment, all I whisper is,
"I will get through this,
I will get through this."
Give yourself love, time and kindness ❤️
You will be okay, you will always be okay. There's nothing you can do that will make you not okay. 🫶

Thank you for this post, Harini. Most of us, budding MHPs, will have to keep coming back to this quick yet effective post just so that we can tell ourselves that "we will get through" and "we are and will be okay". At least for now, I needed to hear and feel these lines. Looking forward to read your musings!
ReplyDeletethank you so much! Glad it helped ❤️
